The Saw Centre are a well-established family business based in the South side of Glasgow.

They sell, install and service woodworking, metalworking, upvc and aluminium machinery from well know manufacturers such as Urban, Emmegi, SCM and DoAll to a wide range of industries such as the building sector, oil and gas and aerospace throughout the UK and Ireland.

Recruitment at Rainbow HR are delighted to partner with them in their search for 2 Service Engineers to build on the established team.

The roles are based out of their Head Office in Pollokshaws with travel predominantly within Scotland, however the role can on occasions involve working away from home for short periods. Ideally you would live within the central belt and within a reasonable distance from the head office.

The position is 40 hours per week Monday Friday with overtime payments on the weekend if required.

About you -

You will come from a similar environment with an electrical bias and preferably be 18th edition certified, mechanical understanding combined with pneumatics knowledge is a distinct advantage, as well as a basic understanding of PLC programming, what is essential is your background in machinery installations, fault finding and repair (planned preventative - PPM and emergency). Essentially you should have worked on plant and machinery within a manufacturing environment or service/support role.

You must be comfortable troubleshooting faults and getting machines up and running with minimal downtime.

As a vehicle is provided you must be in possession of a current, full UK driving licence.

Main aspects of the role –

  • Installing a wide range of machinery in clients premises, these can be anything from a day through to a week depending on size, location and complexity
  • Attending routine servicing calls to keep customers equipment in first class condition
  • Dealing with emergency call outs – diagnosing faults and effecting repairs
