Cifas is a fraud prevention service based in London, run as a not-for-profit membership association.  The business represents organisations from across the public, private and voluntary sectors and currently has over 700 members.  Cifas has a stated mission “to detect, deter and prevent fraud in society by harnessing technology and working in close partnership with the member organisations”. 

Under the direction of a highly inspirational Chief Executive, the business is well underway on the delivery of a 5-year business plan, which will be transformational and will underpin ambitious long term growth targets.

Recruitment at Rainbow HR are delighted to be partnering with them on filling a new role of  Business Development Manager – Public Sector.

This is a sales role working closely with the Business Development Team, Head of Business Development and Public Sector Director in the creation and execution of the Business Development plan for the recruitment of new Cifas members.

The Role
As the Business Development Manager – Public Sector, you will drive sales of Cifas new memberships and products for organisations working within the Public Sector. You will be responsible for implementing a Business Development plan for Cifas fraud membership of the National Fraud Database and Internal Fraud Database. You will also be responsible for researching new markets and prospects and supporting the creation of a stronger proposition for Cifas within the Public Sector.

The Responsibilities
You will be responsible for proactively contacting prospects within the public sector, following up on the large database of current leads, proactive contacting prospective customers following marketing campaigns with a view to gaining commitment toward Cifas membership or other products suitable for the public sector. You will help the Business Development Team achieve sales targets for revenue and new members, including promoting and generating leads for the Learning Business and other product lines.

You will also support and proactively bring the public sector strategy plans to life by building relationships in the sector to create opportunities and build credibility.

In addition, you will deputise for the Public Sector Director on Business Development activity including representing Cifas at events, delivering presentations and to seek opportunities to create leads. You will focus on managing and building a pipeline of new income and learning customers related to the public sector, provide accurate forecasts on sales and revenue throughout the year. Utilising the front end Pipedrive system and Cifas CRM system, ensuring it is up to date and noting all engagement with potential prospects. In addition, you will work closely with the business development team to provide the best possible onboarding experience for the new members. Collaboratively working with Cifas teams and able to interpret Cifas requirements to prospective members and to understand and appreciate the cultural and landscape differences between sectors to successfully promote Cifas.

Who we’re looking for
A Business Development Manager with a proven track record of selling into the Public Sector organisations. Knowledge and understanding of the public sector landscape and culture and fraud investigation as a market/operation is advantageous. Proven ability to build a rapport quickly, enthusiastic with well-developed persuasiveness and presenting benefits or features. Excellent presentation skills and able to engage at senior buyer level are critical.  

In addition, you will have meticulous communication and interpersonal skills, adept in working effectively within a team, and building strong working relationships with the business. You will be a creative problem solver with previous experience of selling B2B or SASS products.

Knowledge of Financial crime, Fraud prevention and Data Protection legislation is advantageous.

Location

This is a fully work from home opportunity anywhere in the UK with an expectation to travel into London office for Leadership Team meetings on a monthly basis, which will be fully expensed.
