This is no run of the mill job though.
Amara Hammond operate in a niche space within the care home sector, designing and delivering innovative spaces, particularly around full refurbs and covering everything from space planning to floorcoverings, soft furnishings, artwork, and lighting. There are unique challenges associated with the care sector, therefore you must be flexible and open minded in your approach to design solutions – ultimately ensuring every home is a home for all.
Based in East Kilbride, just outside Glasgow with easy motorway access and plenty of free on-site parking they are looking for someone who can add real value as they build on the last 2 years success and help propel them to the next level.

This new role provides a rare opportunity to truly be part of the growth and direction of a small design consultancy, a place where your ideas will be listened to and your experience respected, whilst the role is the companies first Interior Designer appointment you will be fully supported by the owners.
Amara Hammond have strong personal and business values and wish a like minded person to be part of their journey, naturally you will be customer centric with superb accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
Their work covers the whole of the UK and the role will involve face to face meetings with clients as well as on site meetings to monitor progress, thus you must be comfortable with travel with occasional overnight stays.
Whilst beneficial, Care Home experience is not essential as the owners will provide everything that is needed in that respect, but applicants must have some commercial design experience in a related area such as interiors for hotels, restaurants, residential.
Salary is negotiable and will be based on the value you can bring to the role and is likely to be in the £30,000 to £40,000 band, there is also the possibility of a performance related bonus.
The role requires applicants to have full ongoing rights to work in the UK and there is no visa or sponsorship opportunity. The position is only suited to designers with proven commercial experience and cannot support a trainee or intern so please only apply if you meet the criteria.
