Hugh Stirling has grown from being a small works contractor into one of the UK's foremost fully integrated construction, refurbishment, specialist interior fit-out, and facilities management providers serving customers across a wide range of sectors, including offices, restaurants, retail and hotels.

Now celebrating 60 years and with a strong order book and ambitious growth plans, Rainbow HR are delighted to be working with them to recruit a Workshop Manager to take charge of all workshop operations at their modern 17,000sq ft manufacturing facility in Bothwell, near Glasgow, this is set to grow substantially.

The workshop produces consistently high quality work, including:

· Fire Door Production

· Bespoke joinery

· Custom veneering

· Spray painting

· French polishing

· Moulding replication

You are someone with solid manufacturing experience (joinery/woodworking is preferred but not essential), ideally with bespoke elements. You know what great output looks like, and can conceptualise from drawings and deliver the most efficient processes, making use of traditional methods and modern technology to achieve the best, most cost effective results and be able to ramp up for scale effectively.

The company have invested in new machinery with more on the way, and you will therefore be comfortable embracing new technology, techniques and ways of working.

The role of Workshop Manager is a pivotal appointment and this role offer a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced person to take the step into senior management.

We are looking for someone with drive and ambition with keen commercial awareness used to running a fast paced workshop, ideally you will have CAD/CNC experience. You will preferably be used to a “Just in Time" manufacturing environment, regardless you will be experienced in proficient procurement and stock control.
